It is interesting and amazing to find opportunities worldwide. Sometimes we grab the opportunities and pack our bags or move our houses. Sometimes we collaborate with a global team on our laptop sitting in our home office.

Whatsoever is the way in which we collaborate with our team or our clients, we need to work on our soft skills along with our hard skills. It will help us in efficiently collaborating with the stakeholders located at different geographical locations. It is hard to replace the hard skills but the story is same for soft skills as well. While we think, we are making efforts to explain and present our work to the stakeholders, we need to understand, that they are also making efforts to understand what we are saying.

Everyday, we are collaborating with our team on different platforms remotely or meeting them in physical offices, we are constantly context switching and multi- tasking to keep up with the communication and its pace. Sometimes, it does get exhaustive. However, it is important to keep up with the integrity in the communication while respecting the cultural differences and abiding by the cultural boundaries.

Understanding different cultures and specially the cultures of our current team helps in connecting and collaborating and sometimes even empathizing.

We know we are good speakers and presenters and we have always been that, but we also need to make sure, that people are listening to what we are saying and nothing gets lost or misunderstood in the translation.
