Many people struggle with alienation during the important events in their life, examinations or even social events.

The anxiety and the pressure takes control and the mind tries to act as a protector and tries to make us remember something completely different from our current situation or something similar but not relevant. Sometimes, the mind takes us to a different world altogether which is just an imagination. Some feel the sudden urge to be surrounded by people.

While some of us can manage the focus and alienation together and remain productive, some find it very difficult and feel crippled by the alienation. The best way to deal with a crippling alienation is to journal our thoughts in a private diary, pick up a paint brush or a musical instrument for some time and as soon as we feel under control, we can switch back to our relevant project.

Taking a quick break and performing breather exercises for a minute or two can also help in clearing our minds.

Remember, alienation can be tackled in different ways and we can find our own way with our own experiences. The important thing here, is to know when and where we are feeling alienated. We need to hold our minds before it runs away far enough, while we are still in our room with the study lights switched on. If anything is taking our mind away from our work or current goal, it needs to be taken care of, whether it is our world within our own minds or an urge to be surrounded by other human beings or specific human beings or pets.
